Hey all, I just discovered a cool trick that might get you out of a pinch.

I wanted to give HyperNewt a try, since I have a bunch of out-of-order memos that are littering my notepad (and old habits like folders die hard).

I didn't have my ethernet card with me or the serial adapter, but I did have IC/VC installed, along with the complete Neo and Nitro IR stacks.

I also have the rare commodity of an infrared port on my Nokia E90 Communicator, running Symbian OS FP1.

Here's how I managed to install:

Use the Mac's Bluetooth device browser to put the .pkg files on the phone, or plug the memory card in to the computer. The phone must not deal with them in any way, so you can't send them as single files or download them from the internet (.zip may work), otherwise it will say "unsupported file format".

Then you go to the Media folder on the phone and find the File Browser app. Point it to the directory containing the files.
Switch to your Newton
Go to InOut, receive>IrOBEX
Switch to phone
Options>send>via infrared

and watch the files slowly trickle in...

Then on the Newton you'll have to put them away to install.

I hope this helps someone!

Bryan
