[NTLK] Top- or bottom-stored stylus?

Both of my HTCs have bottom stylus'.
I've lost several, but they are exceedingly cheap, plus both phones came with extras.

Many of the Samsung tablets I've seen have bottom-extracting styli,
unlike the Newt.

Can anyone expound on how this is better than a top-pocketed stylus?

I'd be afraid of losing mine...
