Good call on using a static IP as that is usually much more reliable.
Sounds like you've tried a couple DNS servers, but have you tried
requesting a site by IP address instead of DNS name to see if bypassing DNS
works?

Do you have any of Paul Guyot's patches installed such as Lantern patch or
NIE patch (see <http://www.kallisys.com/>)? I don't recall exactly whether
the latter was related to DNS, but I know I was running both in my setup.
It's also worth looking at the README or an older version of his site from
the Internet Archive to see if his MoreWifiCards package would improve
support for your card at all.

I haven't used WiFi on my MP2100 in a few years, but might try to get it up
& running again.
