I think the thicknesses of the original battery tray were too fine for the tolerances that you can do in 3D printing at the time.  Maybe this has been overcome with modern 3D printers.

Thanks for the heads up, looks like its available on github.

I googled 3d printed battery tray and came up with this:

Looks legitimate but I don’t have access to a 3d printer.  Hopefully it may help others that may have access to one.
