Ok Satellite is still pretty expensive, damn. Renting a handset may be an option, or eBay it, I think I am pretty used to second hand stuff seeing as I was born after Newtons were killed by Jobs.

The Government is getting tighter on minimum coverage for both mobile carriers and landline/fibre/etc. I wouldn’t worry about 2G shutdown in the UK for now, though it is, what, 20 years old roughly.

It was locked to Vodafone so thats why I use their SIMs. I still can’t get it to work entirely but I got onto Arcade BBS on my eMate and make phone calls! It’s good to look at the little successes than think about the big failure of not being able to use GPRS or PPP Dial Up.
