You need to use a cross over cable if you are not using a hub on your ethernet net work.
Hi All,
I reciently got a Farallon Ethernet PC Card (EtherWave and EtherMac) and
a Farallon ethernet adaptor for my Mac8100/100. There are no other computers
connected on this network and I'm connecting my Newt via the PC card directly
to the ethernet adaptor on the back of my Mac.
