A simple solution.
I developed what I believe you are referring to, and saw an answer on this
forum. I ran the corner of a business card under the edge of the screen,
between the screen and the edge of the case, and most of them went away.
Apparently grit gets between the case edge and screen and causes uneven
pressure on the screen which distorts the recognition.
There was some warning about scratching the screen on that post.
