Subject: NTLK HELP: Newton is dead - again
Fellow Newton-ites/onians/eers:
As some may remember, since taking a dive off a speeding car in October, my
MP2K has had a sporadic problem with spontaneously turning off and not
coming back on. In the past I have been able to pull out the modem, flash
memory, rechargeable battery pack, leave it sit for a while, do the 'hold
the switch down to the count of 5 six times' thing, and it would reset.
But this past weekend it wouldn't power up at all. I've tried every trick I
can think of, and it is still a very dead Newt. Does anyone have any
suggestions of something else I can try? I don't have the money right now
to send it in to Apple for repairs, but desperately need to get some info
off it that was new since my last backup. Oy!
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
