Hi to all:
The following is for your information. Please note I'm still using NuShields despite the following, I guess I just have to be more careful. I think that for best results the shield has to be well stretched and in good contact with the screen. You may not see that the shield is lose, but unless it is in complete contact with the Screen at all areas, you will feel resistance to the Stylus and the tip would wear off, I think...

Thanks for the input. You should post this to the list for all to read,
its a very good cautionary tale. As for styli, you are the first to ask
about stylus wear using NuShields. The NuShield surface is tough but not
very abrasive. I suspect that various styli tips are very soft to give a
particular writing feel. There were those in the past who opined that a
very soft stylus would not scratch the screen. I wouldn't chance it but
its those styli that may wear out more quickly. I suspect, although I
haven't tried it, that the soft styli feel better on the bare screen
because they "stick" a bit and provide some traction instead of the slick
feel of the naked screen. NuShields are designed to mimic this even with
a harder stylus tip by being slightly rough themselves. IMHO, you don't
need one of the soft tips to get the feel you're after with a NuShield in
place.
