Is that a fact or an opinion?

Personally, I think that it would be easier to take the concepts and ideas
behind the Newton and create a new system than to try to update the
existing stuff. What I really want is pre-emptive threading of some kind,
though of course that would mean dealing with signifcant concurrency
issues or doing various IPC tricks instead of the current easy to deal
with stuff. But true multi-threading/tasking would be very useful IMHO.

I think that something sitting on top of UN*X and doing newton-like stuff
would be insanely cool. Just very difficult. The Newton group had a lot
of really talented and forward-thinking engineers and CS theory
geeks. Designing something like that would be a challenge. Anybody
interested? :)
