I suspect at least one broken solder joint at the NIC connector. The
joint is very fragile and a stonger force on the Dongle might crack the
whole NIC connector or only some pins. I got the technology to repair
your NIC port and check your kbd too for definitly less then 180USD. If
you pay all S&H and insurances I could lean you a replacement unit too
until I got your device fixed.
