I give up. Default Font don't seem to work no matter what I try. Interesting point to Note. I have Styles + installed which enable the System font. I also have Paul's Espy Enabler installed. In my Styles Palette, I see both System and Espy Font. They are actually the same.
My old default font was System 10 B. Now I want to change it to System or Espy 9B. The moment I close and reopen Notes, it goes back to System 10B. Can someone try make Espy or System 9B as default and check that it stays even after closing and reopening Notes? I also have SuperNotePad installed but I doubt it's that.
Opps! I just found the culprit. Way Wong from Byte Size saw my mail and asked if it was Outline Styles that caused the problem. Well, I freezed Outline Styles and my new default font stays! Problem Solved. Now I'll put the problem on Way's lap.;-p
