I own a nickel-cadmium battery charger, and a bunch of AA batteries. I know that the Newton's battery tester is not designed for the nickel-cadmium batteries, so the "remaining battery charge" display won't work with it. I don't see how this would be a problem, however; I could use my Newton during the day and let the batteries recharge over night. This would also solve the lower battery charge of the ni-cad batteries, as well as the power drip.
So... has anyone had any success using ni-cad batteries with a Newton? Buying AAs every week or so (I use email, NewtCQ, et cetera, a lot) is a pain; I live in Northern Canada, and 4 AAs'll cost you up to 15 dollars.
TIA for any help!
