Adam,
My first comment being an Australian used to GSM and now forced to use
CDMA in Israel, is don't go to CDMA.
Frequent dropouts and poor quality connections from my experience.
Now I don't know if the Xircom v90 Global Credit Card modem is Newt
compatible but can't see why it wouldn't be.
I bought one for $125 from www.sold.com.au - but haven't tried it in
my MP2100 yet as its in another notebook. but I have used it with GSM
phones (Nokia and Ericsson) with a laptop.
The mobile phone connection for this modem was on sale at Harris
Technology for $120 (or thereabouts) for quite a while - that's not a
bad deal it seems to me.
Now somewhere on the net there's a reference page listing all the
modems known to be compatible/incompatible with newtons... anyone got
the url?
