It seems that there was a thread on the Newton Underground about a year ago on
this, but my understanding is that someone soldered in some higher density chips
to replace the standard chips, and that the Newton did not recognize the extra
memory when it was all done. There was talk of a need for an OS patch, but no
one ever came up with that. I do not recall them saying that they were "adding"
chips, however, but just replacing the standard chips. There was also
speculation about a version of the OS that supported the extra memory, but it
never surfaced.
In any case, put me in for one if you can do it.
