Nope. Essentially because YOU drew it. My experience with this is in a
school newspaper, we had an artist make a "rendering" of a common cartoon
character. We asked at a newspaper conference, and we were told that since
the artist actually drew it him/her self, that it wasn't copyright
infringement. I don't know about *actually* "tracing" as you say.
