RE: NTLK Lost City from Time Zones and the cold war

Sigh - another myth. Coordinates for the USA have always been given out as
accurately as the surveys were able to get them. Given the accuracy of most
maps today, most countries have stopped the practice of publishing maps with
deliberately displaced locations for major cities. The practice that _does_
continue (in the US as well as elsewhere) is simply _not to label_ secret
areas as such on maps. Makes sense, really. The other thing is that GPS
will only work properly in peacetime - any of you that had GPS during the
Gulf War will have noticed that the signals were scrambled during most
operations. Accuracies are reduced to +/- several hundred km under these
conditions.

The upshot is that the coordinate locations in the Newton are accurate.
