We asked Apple this question when we were setting up Newton 1x0s as
Electronic Diaries for patients in clinical trials. The idea was to use a
storage card to transfer data from each patient diary to a central Newton MP
2000 at the clinic. Obviously they were going in and out a great deal.
All they said was "Thousands of times" and we never had a problem with it.
We had about 200 Newton 1x0s in use, and about 20 of the clinic MP2Ks
Inicidentally we've published stuff on this use. Anyone interested, send me
your postal address and I'll mail you copies of the papers.
