What's probably the case here is that you got yourself a 12-volt memory
card. eMates can only mount 12-volt cards as read only. They don't support
writing on 12-volt cards. To read and write to a memory card, you need to
use the 5-volt cards. The intel 6MB card you have is a 5-volt card which is
why you can read and write to it just fine.

Your best bet is probably to just auction off the cards you just bought and
use the money to buy some 5-volt memory cards for your eMate. Unfortunately
for us eMate users, people often don't know what kind of card (5 volt or 12
volt) they are selling other than the brand name and size, which makes
bidding for cards on eBay a bit of a challenge.
