The eMate has space for a second card on top of the first one, but it's not
as wide and there aren't any connections inside to connect a card to,
so it's basically dead space. (hope I made myself clear there)
Tried a couple times in vain to find out what Apple's plans where with it,
never got a decent answer, but that was by the time that the Newton platform
was already killed.

The eMate has one type-III slot. The only cards I can think of that this is
useful for, are XirCom's RealPort modems (their Ethernet cards don't work in
Newtons), type-III modem cards that have actual RJ-11 plugs on them.
