Hi Franco,

That port is where the internal modem was SUPPOST to go but Newton was
killed before that could happen. Some people have put a "dongle destroyer" -
an internal serial port - in it's place. I do not know if anyone's managed
to get the onboard software 19.2k modem working with a phone jack in that
spot (I'd be interested in that more than the serial port!), but I know the
dongle destroyer is there.
