That may be the right direction. I can definitely confirm that neither
SimpleMail 3.3 nor Eudora Pro or any other mail-program caused that
spectacular a memory drain on my MP's as SM 4.o. By today's standards
internal memory on the OS 2.1-machines is pretty tight anyway (even my old
Psion Series 5 has 8 MB), so you notice any loss quickly. Maybe there's
some interaction with the Newton's memory management, but I would be the
last person to know anything specific about that.
