Hrm. But Appletalk / Ethertalk networking on the Newton doesn't use NIE as a transport AFAIK.
Anyways, I don't want to get into a huge argument over this. We'll probably never know the truth until some brave soul tries to make an Ethertalk connection without NIE proper installed (just the aforementioned extensions)
