One problem I've had with FilePad (and a few other apps as well) is that the
"active" area for writing is a bit shorter than my handwriting expects,
which means that the stroke for a taller letter for me starts outside the
writing area. There is nothing to show where you can write, so until the
problem occurs, there's no way to tell that you're not writing where you're
supposed to. But the letter then never registers at all. If you start a
letter outside the bounds, it doesn't pick it up, even as you move the stoke
into the active space.
Is this possibly what you're experiencing?
