Well, the bare necessities would be the Newton, charger/power supply and
rechargable batteries. If you plan on doing a lot of serious writing, then
I recommend a keyboard. If you want to do email, you need a modem (possibly
external) If you start doing that, you will seriously want memory cards.
Surely, you will want a case to put it in, so here's my recommendation. :-)
1 4 meg memory card or larger
1 2 meg memory card for backups of internal storage (also, put your most
vital data there (names, dates, financial soups, etc)
keyboard
carrying case
modem
If you want to print, you will need either an Apple printer, or the print
pack and software for it.
For all that, minus the printer stuff, you can maybe find it together for
somewhere around $300. I really don't know if that's the going rate,
however.
One place to look is eBay
<http://search.ebay.com/cgi-bin/texis/ebay/results.html?query=Newton&category0=160&maxRecordsReturned=300&maxRecordsPerPage=50&SortProperty=MetaEndSort>
(The above link will show you all computer-related auctions that have the
word "newton" in them)
The 130 is certainly a good, budget-minded model. I don't recommend the 120
for anything more than dates and names.
