Hi all,
last week I upgraded one of the first RISC Macs, a PPC 6100/60, with a
Sonnet Crescendo G3/240MHz card. The ads of Sonnet Corp. says the
performance increase is 750% but I measured with SpeedInfo from
NortonUtilies about 600% only. However, NCU runs the backup about as
twice as fast respectively half so slow. (MacOS8.6)
Regarding NCU and XTND components: NCU should be installed after the
MacOS upgrade, but one should also erase by hand the copy of the
AppleScript lib from NCU. This old version made my german MacOS8.1
crashing at shutdown.
