For heap get Avi's backdrop, it's freeware.
For the system version, open Extras , tap the "i" in the bottom left corner
and choose memory info, it will be something like ROM Version 2.1 (737246)-1
where the "737246" is the system version.
BTW, 737246 is the last one for the eMate and has better battery management
than the previous version and better memory management (which is important
if you have an upgrade card installed)
