Well, since there are no adapters in existence that allow the interfacing of
other (non-linear flash) memory products to the Newton, and the self or
commercial development costs for such an adapter would be astronomical (not
to mention the technical issues and trade-offs involved with such an
adapter), I'd say the best consumer value is....sticking with linear flash
RAM cards. Well...unless you are a profoundly masochistic and extremely
talented EE with programming experience using oddball concepts for
interfacing and managing eclectic memory devices...and have a *lot* of free
time. :)

Subject: NTLK best PC card adapters?
Date: Mon, 17 Apr 2000 16:15:53 -0400
In your opinion, what is the best value in Newton storage?
To continue buying rare linear PC cards, or to buy an
adapter for other storage media (compact flash, memory
stick, IBM microdrive)? And if the latter, which is the
best value and most commonly available? Are there such
adapters for a linear slot like the Newt's?
Thanks,
-- Jeff
