In order to use Ethernet cards on Newton you need NIE 2.0 which can only run
on MP2x00s and emates. MP130s only can run NIE 1.0. I was in the same
position you were, I originally purchased a MP130 and found I wanted to use
an Ethernet card, thus I recently purchased a MP2000. You should look into
this, they're well worth the upgrade.
