Okay guys.
Here it is.
>From all the talk I've been reading about the so-called MacOS for Newton and
all the guesses about it, here's my feedback...reaction...thoughts...etc.
1. I think I have the so-called app on my Newton, though I can't remember
how or from where.
2. On the Newton, the icon looks similiar to the finder icon in our Mac
system folder.
3. When you activate the programme, it automatically rotates the Newton to
the landscape mode.
4. You see a so-called Mac OS startup, along with the famouse startup sound,
welcome screen, extensions loading....
5. Then you see the desktop, menus, control strip, and trash can
6. One neat thing is that this programme can "read" your pcmcia memory
modules...so I have two extra memory cards, and they show up as additional
disks under the hard disk icons.
7. However, before you can activate any functions, a dialogue box comes up
saying
"there has been an error loading the MacOS." it gives you two buttons
"Restart MacOS" and "Restart Newton OS" But ONLY the Restart Newton OS
button works, and this returns you to your Newton desktop.
8. Up to now, I've just thought of this app as a spoof and a novelty.
However after reading all your mails, I did a check on this package...and
found its creator to be Apple Computer! So this is rather strange.
Your comments please,
Gavin Hall
