Hi--This thread about Dongle anxiety made me seriously consider trying an
Ethernet Card for my backup connections. I had the dangling serial port
problem which caused major inconvenience when i had to send in my Newton
2100 to Apple for repair. So turning to Ethernet to minimize my use of
the serial port makes sense to me. Anyway, I gather that Ethernet makes
backups alot faster than serial connections--an advantage I surely could
look forward to.
Too long a preamble. Could someone tell me the best buy on an Ethernet
Card that they are aware of. I checked out the FAQ on Ethernet
cards--there was a longish list of compatible cards, but nothing there
tells if one card is to be preferred over another--and if one card can be
purchased at a notably better price than the rest. Any pointers would be
welcome. Jim Charney
