Just to reaffirm what the people who know what they are talking about have already said: yes, the upgrade does
require soldering. My brother has a very special soldering iron for precision work and has had YEARS of experience
with component level work. I myself had a couple of semesters of electronics, and if I went down to Radio Shack
and got an off the shelf soldering iron and tried to do it I would be a fool.
The previous person who said the ram popped out was completely mistaken. Anyone trying to do this themselves
would end up with a dead Newton. There are other things besides precision soldering that are needed.
The more I read this list, the more I want a 2100!!!!!!! : )
