Hello,
as I had a very similar experience with an Apple Personal LaserWriter NT
(the small sibling of your printer) let me tell you what I did to solve the
problem, at least somehow:
First time, I shut the printer off, slid out the motherboard a bit (maybe
half an inch - just enough to make sure the electrical contact was
interrupted, of course not touching any of the components on the board),
and put it in place again after some minutes. Then, I still waited another
20 minutes or so before I switched the printer on again.
Every other month or so this printer shows the same behaviour again. In
most cases I do not have to pull the motherboard out, just switch the
printer off, wait about 20 minutes and put it on again.
To me, it looks like a temperature problem, as it most likely occurs during
summer.
I hope this may have been of some help,
Walter.
