Hey, all.

Thanks to everyone for the very helpful suggestions. Kevin LaCombe
actually pointed me to one action that I think saved the day!

I had been erasing the 20MB card upon insertion, but he told me how to
erase it before anything on it might have a chance to load - by inserting
it while the Prefs slip is open. Since I erased it this way, I haven't
had any more problems with the nasty restart *knock on wood*. Plus my AC
adapter came today, so life's a little more stable. Now, once I get some
packages on there, there'll be no getting me off it! :)
