As far as formatting, I find the best thing in the world is Newton
Press/Mac, believe it or not. Pretty much every text file I throw at it,
it formats it nicely (assuming the original was formatted reasonably). It
seems to automatigically handle text that has been stepped like this:

The big red fox jumped over the
lazy dog.
The big red tarantula floated
over the lazy fox.

and reformat it to the full width of whatever kind of book you're
creating.

Newton Press/Win is garbage. Utter garbage. And it won't run under
Win2k.
