The sad thing is Microsoft having this "first announce" bonus. Were Apple t=
o
come up with a tablet tomorrow it would just lack this.
Same for any sort of TFT-iMac.
Those devices would need to have seriously innovative features to stand out
from what people have already seen.

Frustrating, to me, is that I always consider myself to be in the market fo=
r
a PDA with a bigger display, as my primary use is to put in lots and lots o=
f
handwritten text. But I am not going to buy a MS device, and any alternativ=
e
to the Newton would have to be:
- superior to the Newton regarding HWR, speed, features
- at least equal to the Newton regarding ease of use, physical quality and
energy efficiency
- 100% compatible with MacOS 9/X.

From the text I concluded that MS is again trying to squeeze a desktop
environment, something developed for and evolved along with mouse and
keyboard, into a PDA, and that's just the wrong approach.

Oliver :/

BTW: I just tested the iPod today, excellent thing! As soon it comes with a
remote I will get it. The sound is excellent, and it is also loud enough to
fit my needs. One has to protect the casing though, or it will look horribl=
e
within minutes.
