I agree that we are loyal... for the most part :-)
I have currently a Psion, Palm, Jornada, OMP, 110, 120 and a 2100.
I never use the Psion or Palm. I do use the Jornada and my 2100, various
others in my family use the other Newts. I use the Jornada for one program
and that is a basic cadd disply program so I can take drawings out into the
field and mark them up on site and then upload back home. There is nothing
comperable to this available for the Palm, Psion or Newton. If I could get
this program on my Newton I would never use the Jornada in all likelyhood.
My wife calls me a gadget freak, which is why I have all these. If I don't
use them, generally someone else I know will.
I will be the first to say that the palm and Jornada are great for sync,
plug it in and it does it all. The only problem with the Jornada is that it
will only sync to Outlook 2000 unless you buy one of the other programs. It
will not work with Outlook express, not that this is a big problem. I used
the Palm for a while when I needed access to my contacts list and again this
is good. I always hated the screen and size of the screen on it and the
Psion. The Jornada actually has a pretty nice colour screen and I can take
the cf card from my digital camera (Canon a5 zoom), plug it into the Jornada
and open the pictures in it. I have found the Jornada will not read all of
these cf cards, my brother-in-law has an Epson digital and it will not read
it's cf card.
With anything there are plus's and minus's with any handheld, but in the end
the one I use all the time is the Newton 2100.
