Hello Stefan,
it sounds a bit strange what you write:
IP and AppleTalk are two different worlds.
It is possible to have both protocols IP and AppleTalk via one common physical medium, f.i. Ethernet.
I do not know, what IPNetrouter exactly does, but I assume that it works similar to a router device in hardware.
What you need is a so called Bridge from AppleTalk to Ethernet.
I know that there exist hardware-devices which do the job, I have one, but it depends on the capabilities of this device whether it supports bridging IP packets or not.
Thats so far my experience.
Regards
Johannes

Betreff: [NTLK] surfing the net thru a Mac as a router ?
Hello friendly List Members !
Sorry to bother again,
but i need some advice in connecting the Newton to the outer world.
Am using a Mac with 8.6
Connected the Green-one thru Appletalk. (printer-port)
Using IPNetrouter.
Netnames even "sees" the Mac as a Appletalk Machine (no zone
available) and in terms of 194.192.0.1. (or s.th. similar)
Anyone had success with this config ?
(Please ... no ethercard advice)
(at least i am surfing thru a direct connection to the Modem...but
thats not the thing i desired...)
Thanks for any input,
Stefan
