Lloyd,
where have you found the Address Book for Mac?
I would like to check it out.
To answer your question partly: To make a backup of your existing name files is a must - on both sides - if you already have some names on your Mac which are NOT on the Newt.
Backing up the Newt data is save and proved.
So I would recommend to add the missing names to your Newt first (depending on how much this is) - this is the safest way.
Regards
Johannes

Betreff: [NTLK] Address Book and Sync with "Names"
Hello fellow Newts, Green Groupies, et al.
I recently acquired a shareware called Address Book. It's your basic
Address Book database for the mac. What I learned by reading the Help
section is that you can synchronize Address Book with "Names" in the
Newton!.....My question
is this: Can I create a separate "Names" file that I can set to be
the default sync file...or do I run the risk of overwriting my
existing Names files??...How would I go about securing my
existing...My guess is to first back-up my Names...then go about the
sync....then if problem occurs....do a restore of the names from the
back up??
