I had a similar experience.
My company was in the process of changing ISPs. The current ISP's service
went out AGAIN (Note to everyone; NO DOT USE PSInet as an ISP!). The new ISP
had installed a new T1 line and had placed a Cisco router in our server room.
No one knew if the new T1 was up and running yet....
So I grabbed my Newton out of my belt holster, said "hang on and I'll tell
ya". I connected my Newt strait to the Cisco router, plugged in some Internet
Setup prefs and fired up my NPDS server...... BANG!!!
I then told the old ISP tech support guy (who was on the phone) to type my
NPDS's server IP into his web browser. Then he said "what is that?". I told
him it was "our web server,, my Apple Newton PDA!" He was confused,... I
was giddy!
It was serving pages the rest of the day on it's own T1 line to the Internet!
