besides RouteBook, Bernie Bernstone did a reader for Newton books.
(sorry I don't have a working link, but you can search the usual current
archives mentioned in the FAQ)
I don't know about using SpeakText with Paperbacks --
Paperbacks aren't "Newton books" but use a different format and reader.
[if you think this is confusing, look at the zillion different "book"
formats for Palm]
Maybe there's a way to export the Paperback text to Notes or NewtWorks and
speak the text from there??
(Newt's Cape can open Paperbacks -- if they contain HTML (otherwise, it
ignores them); so, one amusing approach is to create your paperback with
some minimal HTML markup wrappers:
<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>the title</TITLE></HEAD>
<BODY><XMP>your paperback text goes here</XMP></BODY></HTML>
then open it in Newt's Cape, it's displayed as plain text;
and read it using RouteBook plugin...
note: old XMP tag instead of PRE to avoid parsing any embedded & < > etc.)
