Laurent I replied to your other inquirey privately.

Re SkyTel, do they provide numeric and alphanumeric paging? If so then the
answer should be yes if they provide this service. Just in case however
the PageCard recives on the following frequency (2400) 931.8875 MHZ
Capcode, 0088982.

On the back of the card is an 800 number 800-387-5072 perhaps the folks at
Socket can fully answer your questions?

Of note, my Motorola numeric pager responds to 931.73750. I did contact
Bell Mobility who is our service provider up here in Canada and they said
that they do support this pager as it is basically a std alphanumeric
pager grafted onto a PCMCIA card.

I guess the real question might be whether the cards you are finding have
sw support for the Newton. I have installed the sw that comes with the
Socket PageCard on my 110 running rom 1.3 and the Newt sees the card and
and accessess it for any pages so it works. There is also sw for rom 2
however I set it up on my eMate and get a Newton system error when I try
and run the sw. I have a feeling that I have something set wrong in the
connection sw that syncs the eMate to the eMate server that is used to
sync all eMates on a network. The eMate does see the card, and the sw did
install correctly so my guess is I just need to tinker a bit more.

On an MP 100 there is not enough internal memory to load the Notify and
Update packages.
I've only just started to experiment around with this stuff since I read
the original note from Scotty so it might take a day or two to get up to
speed on this stuff.

I have access to a rom 2 120 so perhaps later I will try and install the
sw on it if the eMate problem is only common to it. I think one of our IT
guys has a 2100 so perhaps I can convince him to try and run it on his
Newton as well.

One other thing I noticed, the card will draw power from your Newt to run
itself. In my case it has to since it doesn't have the internal backup
battery which is also used to power the pager when removed from the device
it is used with.

Good luck with your Pager exploits.

Kevin
