I plan to tackle this sometime deep next year if nobody else has by
then.... My C/C++ chops are just -about- good enough for porting
things, although writing stuff from scratch still gives me hives.

But all that is subject to -extreme- change, so I'd point any other
competent C/C++ coder at http://www.openssl.org as a good starting place
for code to port, since my allegations of interest might never bear
fruit.
