for NOS 2.0, I only have a MP120 (and no dialup account these days) so
wasn't able to test/benchmark this -- but it should have been _possible_
though I'd agree it would be rather slow -- and perhaps useless w/o ethernet
(3.3a7 is still available in case anyone wants to try). Since I hadn't heard
from any NOS 2.0 users, I figured I'd start to do some code cleanup, plus
server needs some 2.1-specific functions to handle keyboard entry easily.
