The Newton MP2k WILL NOT charge any rechargeable
batteries that are inserted in the original "AA"
battery tray.
If you want to use rechargeable batteries in the MP2K,
then you need to either get a rechargeable battery
pack, or charge the batteries outside of the Newt
(using some form of external charging device)
Unlike the 120/130, There is no "hack" to fool the
MP2K into thinking that you have rechargeables
installed.
