Ed,

you don't. Instead, you use NTK to compile a package containing your map;
that package can then be transferred to the Newton. You need ResEdit and
NTK for that, but fortunately, you don't need to write any code; editing/
adapting a sample file and storing your JPEG picture into a PICT resource
of a resource file is all it takes.
