There are probably two issues at stake here.
We'll cover the easy one first. In the dates, you can quickly delete old
dates by the routing icon. When you choose "Delete" you are presented with a
dialog box, where you can choose what to delete. It's pretty
self-explanatory.
Secondly, you probably have corrupt entries somewhere. Finding the corrupt
entry probably won't be easy. Every time I had a corrupt entry, I discovered
it in a different way. Sometimes when you try to open an item, it won't
open. Once, I found a bad name when I tried to move it from a card to
internal. Maybe, when you delete old dates, you will delete the bad entry. I
would try that first, and see if it fixes your problem.
