Hi all,
Apple New Zealand keep no stock of the dongles. However I went to an
Apple service centre and they will be getting in the dongles from
Australia hopefully by Friday. When they checked there were 10
available, so the number available keeps going up :-)
The MP2000 can do amazing stuff like print to my printer using IrDA as I
had hoped. And talk to my MP130 using the same technology.
I mananged to locate and purchase a Dlink 660+ Ethernet Card today. I've
already successfully installed the drivers. I uploaded the driver to my
MP130 and then beamed the "icon" in extras to the inbox of my MP2000.
From there all I had to do was put it away (i.e. install the package).
The card is properly detected so it's fine.
A dongle will still be needed to access the keyboard.
Now the question (I won't perform this until I have the dongle because I
may have no way to upload NIE2.0 using the MP130 as an intermediary):
If I wipe the Newton clean are there any packages that I may not be able
to restore to the factory default? In particular I don't want to lose
Netwon Works.
I know the Newton Works packages can be downloaded from here:
http://www.unna.org/unna/applications/NewtonWorks/
Which packages should I upload? I currently have (looking at the
WorksWrite info) Version 1.01 (c) 1997 SBI Holdings Limited. Is this the
latest version available?
What is newtdraw.pkg? Do I upload newtwork.pkg & wcalc.pkg from this
base directory or do I upload it from one of the subdirectories such as
qfw101 or qfworks101?
Thanks eveyone,
Adam
