        It was a prototype 707 (the Dash 80), two barrel rolls, over tens
of thousands of spectators at the SeaFair hydroplane races in Seattle,
1955. :) (Granted, it's not a 747, but...)

        Tex almost lost his job over that one... it wasn't planned. Not
even his copilot knew he was going to do it.

        Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but this story is just too neat
not to belatedly respond. :)
