    Apple didn't, but there was third party software.
    There was the Electronic Library (an online reference library for
students) at http://www.infonautics.com, but that appears to be gone and the
URL takes you to Tucows.
    To teach programming there is NSBASIC http://www.nsbasic.com (still in
business and supporting the Newton).
    Sunburst Communications (missing in action) had programs to teach
keyboarding and writing on the eMate.
    Landware http://www.landware.com sold MusicPad, but it's not on their
list of offerings now.
    Tom Snyder Productions http://www.teachtsp.com offered several K-12
programs but there's no mention of eMate on the current website.
